Yesterday we discussed KEY EVENTS and fictional summaries during Reader’s Workshop using “Zathura,” a book written by Chris Van Allsburg. I have posted a photo below of helpful charts with visual clues that we use in the classroom. It would be a great idea to have a conversation at home with your child about the book. You can ask such questions as:
Who are the characters?
What is the setting of the story?
What is the problem that gets the story going?
What are the KEY EVENTS? (not small details)
How is the problem solved?
How does the story end?
