As you know we are currently in the middle of our persuasive writing unit. Today we explored the idea of digital citizenship. Click this link for a definition of digital citizenship.
Students were asked to create a scenario where someone was using the internet irresponsibly. Students then created a mythical “Digital Superhero” who teaches a lesson of using the internet responsibly. After creating the outline, they created a BitStrip to demonstrate understanding! There was some great, in depth conversation. Please reinforce the use of digital citizenship at home.
How does this activity tie into persuasive writing? Students will be writing about if digital citizenship should be taught in schools. Why or why not?
